After quitting Penske, Ken Hurley joined the American Red Cross for two years. One of his greatest accomplishments was negotiating the first-ever national contract with a union alliance representing ARC employees. ARC honored him lavishly during his stay, especially for his training and development of labor relations leaders. His former employers recognized and commended this education since he left behind superior and more intelligent leaders wherever he went.
